This was confirmed for the umpteenth time while watching New Moon last night.
I hate her…for making me feel so involved with the narrative that is Twilight. I hate her for making me care about the plot of the books, and now care about the structure of the movies.
I hate her for making young girls actually want an Edward in their life. Isn’t that absurd? I was unable to finish the fourth book in the series, so enraged by the content, the stupidity of Bella, the possessiveness of Edward, the helplessness of Jacob.
What was absurd in New Moon, the novel, was just as absurd in New Moon, the movie. Somewhere, deep down in a place in my heart that I’ve thus far kept concealed, I hold a sliver of hope that the filmmakers will discard the plot of the novels and instead re-invent each subsequent book for the screen. Edward is destroyed by the pack of werewolves, forever a virgin! Bella gets a brain! Bella thinks for herself! Bella believes in a future for herself! Bella is an independent person! Bella no longer craves a co-dependant relationship!
AND:
Bella chooses Jacob! But Jacob, realizing how shitty Bella has treated him, says “Bitch please!” and makes up for the years he wasted pining over plain and boring Bella and starts getting his (and how!)!
Can we take a moment to discuss Robert Pattinson? He is, quite possibly, the most undeserving of female attention in the history of ever. His mug was so vile while watching New Moon that I literally gagged. I’m not even sure what the filmmakers are trying to accomplish with these Twilightmovies because (pedo bear alert!), Taylor Lautner is HGHLY BNGBL and Robert Pattinson just isn’t cutting it. Can they at least try to cover his entire body with that awful white makeup, so he actually matches? I’m not saying he needs to be buff. I’m just saying that he needs to not look like whatever is at the bottom of my shoe after walking through a CTA green line stop.

Solar Plant on Chicago Brownfield: The Future of Electric Power: BusinessWeek
Half the states in the U.S. require utilities to generate a certain percentage of power from renewable sources, helping to fuel rapid growth in wind and solar power. Exelon is working with SunPower to put a solar photovoltaic plant on an old brownfield site on Chicago’s South Side. The 10-megawatt plant will have 32,000 solar panels and should be able to power between 1,200 and 1,500 homes.
